World-renowned celebrity chef Martin Yan’s collection of nearly 3,000 cookbooks, his first wok, thousands of photographs and other media will be the main ingredients in an archive to be established in his name at the 51�Թϱ��, Davis.

Yan and his wife, Susan, both 51�Թϱ�� graduates, recently gifted the items and funds to create the Chef Martin Yan Legacy Archive in the 51�Թϱ�� Library Archives and Special Collections.

‘World’s Greatest Wine Library’ at 51�Թϱ�� Continues to Grow

When Hugh Johnson, author of the ground-breaking World Atlas of Wine, decided to donate his archive of nearly 60 years of wine-book writing to the 51�Թϱ�� Library in 2016, he explained that he had chosen 51�Թϱ�� because, “It’s simply the greatest wine library in the world.”

Warren Winiarski, grape grower, winemaker, land preservationist and philanthropist, has committed $3.3 million to build the most comprehensive collection of wine writers’ work in the world at the library at the 51�Թϱ��, Davis.
