The 51�Թϱ��, Davis, today (July 19) celebrated milestones in two major student housing projects: The Green at West Village is completed and work on the Orchard Park apartment project is officially underway following a ceremonial groundbreaking.

Regents to Consider 51�Թϱ�� Long Range Development Plan

The 51�Թϱ��, Davis, will formally submit its new Long Range Development Plan and accompanying Environmental Impact Report for approval at the next meeting of the UC Regents, July 18. Once approved, the new plan, which includes capacity for an additional 2 million square feet of academic and administrative space and up to 9,050 beds of new on-campus housing, will go into effect.

Developer Named for 51�Թϱ�� Housing Projects

51�Թϱ�� has selected University Student Living of New Jersey to enter exclusive negotiations to develop two major housing projects on campus, at Orchard Park and at West Village. The selection follows a request for proposals issued in June.

As originally conceived, the proposed projects would provide more than 2,775 beds for graduate and transfer students, as well as those with families. With the developer selection completed, 51�Թϱ�� and the developer will continue to evaluate affordability and density options to exceed the prior target of 2,775 beds.
