The 51�Թϱ��, Davis, nearly matched its record level of annual research funding in 2018-19, receiving $845.5 million in grants and contracts, coming in at $1.2 million below the previous year’s record-setting total of $846.7 million.

“I’m pleased that our research funding is nearly setting records,” said Chancellor Gary S. May. “From finding new ways to feed the world to fighting global disease, 51�Թϱ�� researchers continue to excel in pursuing knowledge and innovations that are critical for a better tomorrow.”

51�Թϱ�� Sponsored Research Funding Increases to $783 Million

The 51�Թϱ��, Davis, received $783 million in external research funding for fiscal year 2016-17, up $23 million from the previous year. 51�Թϱ�� remained fourth overall among 51�Թϱ�� campuses, which received a combined total of $6.08 billion from all external sponsors during fiscal year 2016-17, about 1 percent above the previous year.

“It’s clear that public agencies and private companies are depending on 51�Թϱ��’ innovative spirit and expertise to help solve some of the world’s biggest challenges,” said Chancellor Gary S. May.
